ADDITIONAL MATERIAL - POST 3 - THE AGE OF AQUARIUS??

Today, there is a prevalent mindset in the West that will characterise the secular world for a long time. The humanistic world is both guided and inspired by the conscious or unconscious belief that humanity has entered a thing called ‘the Age of Aquarius’. According to astrologers, this age promises that the peaceful pursuit of individual liberty and rights by all, and allowing others to peacefully do the same, will result in worldwide equality, harmonious community, mutual respect, and extreme tolerance of people who are different from you; peace, fulfilment and satisfaction. Walk up to any westerner in any western capital city and you’ll usually find that, without knowing it, they live their life exactly according to this creed. One can see it everywhere.

Its fullest potential was first glimpsed at the 1969 Woodstock Rock Festival in Bethel, New York, which was actually called ‘an Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace and Music’. At the time, there was a very popular song called Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In, on an album by the 5th Dimension called The Age of Aquarius. That song spoke of the ‘dawning of the Age of Aquarius’. It was later elected Billboard’s 66th greatest song of all time. In its storied apotheosis, Woodstock is said to have announced history’s all-time climax of peace and love in the world, because the attendees in the crowds there were so kind, civil and generous to one another. For many today, it is the prototype of the kind of society-wide community that our laws should be aiming at. Let’s have a closer look.

The original location wasn’t to be Bethel, but a town called Wallkill, but they were thrown out. With insufficient time to build both a stage and a fence, they built only a stage. However, the organisers never felt that they could have asked for the attendees to pay what they owed in admission fees. The result was a loss in the millions of dollars. So much for generosity. When the first of the food was offered, the servers at the counters were so overrun with surging crowds they had to hand out the food for free. So much for kindness. In fact, all of the major music festivals just before this one had resulted in fights and lawsuits, apparently because the concert goers resented told what to do. This was the ethos of the crowd who worshiped over Dylan’s ‘Get out of the way, we are coming’ in his song ‘The Times They are A-Changin’. (I was a kid during this hippie era in America, and I remember it. They never looked loving to me. They looked scary.) Thus, the organisers knew they couldn’t hire a regular security presence, so they hired a bunch of hippies from a commune who called themselves the ‘Please Force’, and only ever asked people to do things, never told them. So much for civility. Today, such music festivals are banned because too many people have died during them. So much for a Rock Festival prototype. They were truly much more about power. And, to delude themselves that it was all actually peaceful and loving, they used copious amounts of narcotics; at Woodstock the majority used drugs of some sort. So, I don’t think that this movement has the spirit of peace; I think they have the spirit of Napoleon – power and deception. Why? Let’s play the game of astrology that they played and shine it back at them, and see what we get. First Woodstock was held on August 15 – Napoleon’s birthday. He was hugely into both power and deception. And, according to astrologers Leo, which was the star sign in operation on August 15, is all about power.

Also, most people think that the reforms above will result in Christianity dying away, and that this is proof that it is either defective or anachronistic. This is because they conflate Christianity and moral conservatism, but more importantly because they conflate human rights and equality with human satisfaction and contentment. In the opening and closing ceremonies of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, John Lennon’s song, Imagine, was sung as a kind of worldwide humanistic anthem. This song asserts the things that deny human happiness are countries, possessions and heaven; but the verse conflating heaven and unhappiness was sung twice.

The Bible presents a different argument to all of this. It says that the prerequisite for true and lasting satisfaction and contentment is not an attitude of power but an attitude of humility. Jesus’ humility enabled him to win for us our peace; our humility allows us to partake in it – both through the cross. And, consider the cross. It can be accessed by anyone, anywhere, and any time, to procure a heaven that cannot be spoilt by any adverse circumstance. It is true equality – not some tin pot Leftist government who forces the poor to live it down, whilst they live it up. As Billie Graham used to say – ‘The ground at the foot of the cross is level’.

Yes, it is true that Christianity is in decline in the West. And, it will surely fall into decline elsewhere in the future. However, this is not because Christianity is either defective or anachronistic. Rather, it is because God is sending to the world a new period of testing, an anti-Christian world, in order to be able to save those who will respond to it. The truths of Christianity are logical, are timeless, and work today. And there is nothing defective or anachronistic about that.

However, this satanic deception has been extremely effective. It first gained widespread traction during the reign of Napoleon and hasn’t looked back since. And, it will be the dominant ethos behind the gathering multitudes who gather to persecute and destroy Christians in the tribulations of the last days.

Argue against it wherever you can.
